Information: Who's planned to build a RAID-Array with LSI should use
the Asus Zero-Channel RAID controller - it is about 25% faster than
the same Controller with an additional PCI-Card.

Wer mit den AP-1600R (x) RAID machen will und sich auf einen LSI
festgelegt hat, sollte tunlichst den ASUS-Einbau-Controller nehmen - 
der ist ca. 25% schneller als der gleiche Controller als
PCI-Steckkarte mit eigenem Kanal.

One big Problem: Sometimes the em-(NIC)-Driver is crashing and pulls
the system and the connected switch to stop (no panic, it is only
dead). We have tried different switches (Cisco, Level-One, Extreme
and Allnet) and NICs (82547 - onboard, the 82541 - second onboard-NIC,
82540 and 82542 with additional PCI-Card) and none of them seems
to work without problems.

Ein ernsthaftes Problem haben wir allerdings noch: Ab und zu tickt
der em-Treiber aus - und dann bleibt der gesamte Switch, an dem der
Rechner hängt, stehen. Wir haben es mit Cisco, Level-One, Extreme
und Allnet versucht...
Das passiert mit allen Intel-Versionen (82547 - steckt meistens im
Chipset, 82541 - meistens als zweites Interface drauf, 82540 per
Karte und 82542 per Karte), die wir getestet haben.
